OUR MOOD – CHEZ BOBO
This was the very first moodboard we did when launching Chez BoBo in 2013.
We still love it just as much now as we did back then. This is a place where we share inspiration from artists, exhibitions, press and much more. Enjoy and welcome to our universe!

PRIVATE TOUR AT THE GLASS FACTORY IN BODA
Here is where the magic happens. We got a private tour by Aki Keitel in the glass factory in Boda. Such a cool space and a delight for our industrial loving eyes. Just look at the glass mass in an array of colours.

RESIDENCE MAGAZINE
If you pick up the latest issue of Residence Magazine (No. 5, May 2016) you will find a seven page interview and house call to Cecilia Steiner, one half of Chez BoBo and women’s head buyer at Nitty Gritty. Photography and set design by Liffner Lingsell and words by Michelle Meadows.
The header says ”BLACK BELT IN TREASURE HUNTING” (translated from Swedish), and we can’t think of a nicer compliment, wow! Cecilia has also always wanted one since the jiu-jitsu practises as a child, but only got to orange. Never let go of your dreams, one day they might come true! Black belt, check.
Thanks ever so much for the lovely feature, we are truly honoured here!
OUR MOOD: ENGLISH WEEKEND AWAY
Holiday greetings from England, where we spent a weekend in October for a dear friend’s wedding. Classic and classy, romantic yet quirky setting. Totally irresistible.

PS. Love is all (and the butler did it!)
SAMUJI KOTI TEA TOWELS
Modest beauty is created in Jokipiin Pellava Textile Mill in Finland. It is situated on a riverbank, surrounded by Ostrobothnian landscape. Originally, locals brought wool from their sheep and linen from their fields in exchange for spun yarn. Today, the red-brick textile mill celebrates it’s 95th year in operation and the linen yarn is bought from northern Italy, as it’s not common to grow your own in Finland these days. They don’t use any toxins at Jokipiin Pellava, and the amount of waste is equivalent to that of a modern family of four.
This is where Samuji tea towels in bold stripe and multi stripe are made. They are designed by Katja Hynninen. She says that an ample space is her favourite design element, but she also believes one can create an illusion of space even to a tiny home, not just by getting rid of things, but also by choosing the right colours and materials. Fabrics add character and feeling to a space.
Hynninen always aims for practicality when designing fabrics, often with a minimalistic motive and two colours at the most. Along with the looks, she wants you to pay attention to the feel and functionality, and how the fabric is manufactured.
The Samuji Koti tea towels are made with such beautiful craftmanship, and the woven blend of 50% linen and 50% cotton is both durable and stunning. A quality investment that will look amazing in any kitchen. Two prints are available, and both of them come in red, green or black print on an offwhite base. Check them out more closely in our shop section!

CHEZ BOBO IN PLAZA DECO!
As we write this, we are waiting at the Central Station of Stockholm for a train to Gothenburg that is delayed more than five hours. To help pass some time, we picked up some quality reading and in an instant, waiting did not feel as long. Spotting this cheered us up big time! We are honoured to be featured in the latest issue of Plaza Deco, where we were given the opportunity to share what inspires us in a full spread. (No. 03 2014, in stores now).
We talk about the (for us) vital contrast between the archipelago and downtown, amazing textures, the old tradition of vegetable leather tanning, how we are spellbound by squiggly staircases in Paris, and exquisite architecture.
We also have a good line-up of new objects (but naturally they are old, really) which will be added to the shop section shortly. These include a pair of electrical candlesticks, a quite unique brass candleholder, a sensational sand coloured table lamp with claw-like foot by Ewå and a incredibly beautiful Art Deco globe lamp, among much more. Check back shortly for goodies!
